Looks to protect 30% of waterways in the next ten years.
On Tuesday, the Department of the Interior celebrated ten years of partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to conserve urban waterways. Known as The Urban Waters Federal Partnership, the program unites 15 federal agencies to help keep waterways clean in highly populated areas. The president’s administration has a goal of expanding the Interior’s conservation efforts to 30% of the nation’s waters by 2030.
Assistant Secretary for Water and Science Tanya Trujillo stated, “The Interior Department is deeply committed to the goals and mission of the Urban Waters Federal Partnership. As we look to the future, we’re particularly focused on strengthening our current locations with more resources and support, and looking to see how we can expand the impact of this innovative partnership to more communities across the country.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Assistant Secretary Trujillo to seek God’s guidance in protecting the nation’s waterways.
- That the EPA would be used by the Lord to preserve the natural environment.
- For President Biden to have wisdom on how to conserve the country’s water sources.
